Blind ferret?

How can you tell if your ferret is blind?  I have a 6-7 yr old that
sometimes makes me think he's blind.  He runs headfirst into a lot of
things, and when I'm giving treats, he never goes to my hand, he just
stares into space.  Yet sometimes he'll run around the room, avoiding
most of the obstacles.
