Kris has done an extraordinary job getting the ferrets on the 2007
Giving Tree. What started as a small task has grown in enormity - kinda
like his heart. Someone asked how we pick our ferrets off the tree.

Each year I wait till the end of the line - week before Christmas - to
take the ones nobody else wants. That is how I get my rescues, too -
give people a shot at them and then take them when nobody else will.
And, when I do, I also like to look and see if there are other ferrets
from the same shelter. I try to throw in a few items so that the other
ferrets in the shelter will not be overlooked. After all, every shelter
can use a little extra and ALL the ferrets benefit from the gifts sent
to one.

May I make a suggestion? Why not take a peek and see if there is a
shelter with several ferrets from there on the tree. Then, instead of
just taking a ferret from the shelter, why not adopt the shelter? Send
a little extra as most ferrets need some of the same items anyway. Send
a large bottle of ferretone, a few bags of treats and a few hammies or
sleep sacks. Half a dozen crocheted eggs and/or a couple of 3 packs of
the balls. You know the items are shared among the others at the
shelter and it would be so easy to just toss in another bag of treats.

I will be looking at the tree for a shelter with some unclaimed
ferrets - why don't you? Oh, and see if you can find ME on the tree!
(Not the ferrets in my name, but ME!)
