I found it interesting to read about ferrets being able to count. I
thought all ferrets could count and as well as reason.

My Little Bear - who collects toy car and truck tires- always sorts them to
size and always keeps them in groups of 4 (except for the toy motorcycle
tires which she keeps in pairs)(I am not kidding!).

Trouble use to sort all the toys as to types - into animals, vegetables,
and other. We even caught her putting all the vegetables in a frying pan
one day. She used to have a toy dolphin which she took everywhere with
her. She would put its head in the water when she drank and its head in
the food when she ate - never the tail!

Odie knows her name as well as all the other ferrets names. All I have to
do is ask her where someone else is and she will bring them back to me. I
can also ask Odie to pick up her toys and she will get everyone busy
relocating the toys (of course not back to their room).

His Whiteness goes nuts when you move even one of his babies (he owns all
the stuffed animals)! He re-counts them constantly.

Packing-
I had to go over to Puerto Rico last week and had a lot of help packing -
this is how it goes.

Put 4 pairs of socks in suit case-remove two toys-find the 4 pair of socks
and return them to suitcase-remove the two mouthsful of ferret food-return
socks to suit case-remove sleeping ferrets from suit case-only find 3 pairs
of socks-remove ferrets hiding pants. Still end up in Puerto Rico with
only 2 pair of socks and the bottom of the suitcase full of Totally Ferret!
(Everybody get put back in their room before I close the suitcase! And I
do a double nose count just in case - I can just see me openning my
suitcase to find ferrets!)
