I hope this is the correct mailing list that has been discussing "crush
videos".  There is an article in today's Tallahassee (FL) Democrat on
these videos.  The participants have been ordered to stand trial on animal
cruelty charges.  It did say that the animals were rats and mice (NOT
ferrets) and some were babies.  A Deputy Public Defender is arguing that
it should only be a misdemeanor because rodents aren't covered under the
state's (California) animal cruelty laws.
 
Does this mean it's OK to do this to squirrels, muskrats, etc???
