I don't have any litter suggestions, but...

You must have a very sensitive nose. I can practically stick my nose in
our litterboxes (yesterday's news litter) when it has poop in it and not
smell a thing and they only get changed once a day... though I often scoop
the poop once during the day. I do have to admit I'm not very sensitive to
odors. Are you sure its the litterboxes you're smelling? What are they
eating? That has an effect on how the output smells.

Does "recent ferret collector" mean you're new to owning ferrets? Ferrets
do have a slight odor about them that is perfectly normal and it is really
noticeable to some people. If you're really sensitive to odors, you can
probably smell 'em the minute you walk in the door. I don't notice it and
neither does my wife, whose nose is much more sensitive than mine, but then
we've probably grown immune to their odor after having them around for 13
years.

For the ferrets,
Mike
