to supplant the advice of veterinarians who are in charge of the patient.
If the patient is not currently under the care of a veterinarian, the client
is recommended to take their ferret to one.**

Yes, ear mites are contagious and perhaps they can be transmitted by sharing
common areas.  A more likely route is direct contact between pets.

Blackheads on ferrets tails can be treated with a non-toxic benzoyl peroxide
cream (such as Oxydex from your vet s).
