The Visit
 
 
Late last night,
while sound asleep,
I dreamed his whiskers
touched my cheek...
 
A tickly kiss
inside my ear;
I dreamed that he
was very near...
 
I cried his name
and missed him so,
it wasn't fair
for him to go!
 
and in the morning
sun so bright,
something left
behind last night....
 
Beside my pillow,
placed with care,
...his favorite toy
lay nestled there.
