Some people may feel it's irresponsible for pet owners to give away thier
pets. In some cases that may be true depending on the circumstances. To
be critical of someone who posts to this list because they are looking for
a caring home for thier ferrret is also irresponsible.

Please take a minute to consider the alternatives. 1. Turn the ferret over
to the local dog pound. 2.Let it go try to fend for itself and die. 3.Pass
it on to a friend, who passes it on, who passes it on, who passes it on.....
4. Keep it anyhow and turn it's life into one without companionship and
play. 5. (A good idea) Turn it over to a local ferret shelter.

I, myself can't think of a single reason why I would give up my ferrets.
I'm also unmarried, with no children. When someone I was seriously dating
(now my fiancee) told me to "get rid of them" I said " I've had them longer
than I've had you! You'll go before they do!" All's well now though.

Bev, please don't be so critical of the people who use this list to assure
themselves that thier fuzzies are going to a good home. They are only doing
what they feel is best for themselves and thier ferrets.

And FMLers, DO post with any ferts that you either have, or know of, that
need a good home. There are many good people and shelters on this list who
can help.
