Shavings really aren't appropriate for ferrets and can be dangerous,
especially the cedar ones.

fleas: http://www.smartgroups.com/vault/ferrethealth/common_parasites.txt
but go there fast because it will be having a week's downtime soon.

Excellent health info-, legislation info-, vet finding- links can be
found in the critical references at http://www.ferretcongress.org.

Not eating often enough or not eating enough food will throw off liver
enzymes. Go to the International Ferret Congress site above and link
to the AFIP site in the list of sites by vets in the Critical Reference
Links. Read the section on "Confusion and Controversy" and you will find
the info on that for you and your vet. There are a number of links which
have info on insulinoma. With monetary constraints try Pred at this
point.

We've decided that if Chiclet is stable enough for us to do it we're
going to go to a movie tomorrow. We need the break, but it dependsd on
her health, of course. Then I'll nap in the evening because I've been
doing the late night shift for her. Her consulting oncologist is leaning
toward it being some sort of severe infection (but says that it might
still be a malignancy) but hse seems to be slightly improved and she has
survived since last Wednesday despite the other two who were reported to
have her symptoms dying within about 4 day s each. They were both
younger and smaller, though, being just 3 months while she is 6 months
old, and I have to wonder if those things give her an edge. I think that
maybe giving her meds by injection also is helping more.. She is about
an $800 ferret now without us having income but this is what savings are
for and boy are we glad that we've been careful about saving for so many
years. It sure feels extra good that we did without in the past to see
how much that helps now.
