And I let them know that today was going to be an eye appt so would let
people know then. As a result here is an update sent as a mass mailing
to not strain my eye:

Glare and acuity have been increasingly worse and I have a marked
blurry patch.

Because I had that extreme pressure reduction that got too low after
my invasive bleb surgery on that eyeball for advanced glaucoma (after
medications and laser surgeries no longer worked like they did in my
earlier dozen years with glaucoma) I am already getting a cataract in
that eye. Because I have a large bleb I can not have laser surgery for
it, but on doing pre-op testing it was found that I also may have begun
one of the milder forms of macular degeneration in that eye. As a
result I have an appointment with a retinal expert early next month to
determine what can or can not be done and then a follow-up appointment
with my regular ophthalmologist. In a few months I will probably have
a new lens put in that eyeball.

I guess it is good that I managed to cut ferret claws last week.

I'd just like to note that having a few people ask about my eye on any
given day as part of the rest of the conversation is pretty much the
norm now. Jaimie, Kara, and Sue just happened o ask right before my
appointment. Today after my appt and tests and after i sent my note
several others asked. Anyway, at this point it looks like I probably
will have a lens replacement in a few months with precautions shaped
around the other problems. Afterwards in what remains of my visual
field I should have better distance vision than since I was a very
young child. Meanwhile, I have tricks to help w glare and use some one
eyed and low vision tips, too. Plum 4% Noir Medical fit overs are my
favorites, but I have three fit overs for different conditions now and
have taken to hat wearing. I discuss glare and tricks some in
