I know this seems pretty much finished as a thread, but I just wanted
to add, as a fellow asthma sufferer, that the litterbox could be
causing allergic reactions as well, depending on what kind of litter
you use. The regular sort creates a lot of dust, and sometimes is
scented with noxious "perfumes" which IMO smell worse than what they're
supposed to cover. I use the pine pellet stuff, which is still not
ideal in terms of allergies but I am otherwise happy with; maybe the
newspaper pellet kind would cause the least trouble for asthmatics.

Back from vacation and within one week the white-footed wonder has:
stolen my black eyeliner from the top of the toilet tank (insecure about
her lack of a mask?)
ripped open a bag of sand on the balcony to create her own private beach
and is currently working on extending it into the kitchen
eaten much too much eraser making me very scared but things seem back to
normal in the litterbox now
dug up two large plants and tossed dirt all over my current PhD project
knocked most of the CDs out of the rack

I guess she's glad to be back! I had hoped to adopt another ferret this
week but unfortunately those graduate student, end of summer finances
just can't handle it-- maybe in October. Oh, BTW, Amelia renamed my
system folder a sixteen character string of numbers, letters, and
punctuation marks which must mean something to her but seem pretty
mysterious to me...

Regina (but it's just not physically possible for you to be on my desk)
