Did anyone see a program on the television about how ferrets are trained
to do work for the GPO or some other services when laying cables.

The ferrets were trained to go down pipes and given a treat at the far
end, they wore a harness to which a thin cable was attached, so when the
ferret got to his or her treat at the other end, the people doing the
work were able to take the harness off and pull the cable through.

Thinking about this subject more carefully, could ferret owners in
California not suggest this method of work to their city officials, that
way if ferrets became part of the working force they would find them self
accepted more.

Just a thought for all the ferret owners in the US.
