Hello All:

A quick note to let everybody know that two of our weasels, Minx and Puck,
both underwent surgery in the past couple of weeks.

Minx was first. When we got back from Christmas break we saw that she was
throwing up every so often; taking her to the vet revealed she did indeed
have an enlarged adrenal. (Since she's 5.5 years old that wasn't too
surprising.) The surgery went ahead without a problem and she's now busily
regrowing her hair and repaying us for the indiginities she was forced to
suffer. The only real change as a resut of the surgery has been her
attitude towards Nutrical...before she wouldn't touch the stuff, now she'll
eat it in small doses. Go figure.

Puck has already had adrenal surgery; his latest trip to the vet was a
result of a battle with Splinter, our newest male. They didn't agree over
who was boss and Puck got a nasty bite on his neck that abscessed very
badly. Our vet had to make a BIG cut on the back of his neck to get
everything out, and now the stitches are making him look like an albino
Frankenstien. He's having some minor problems with reinfection but is
otherwise doing well.

Photos of both members of the Zipper Club will be online shortly at
