My peace on this:

I'm not going to EVER say someone's vet is "wrong" about a diagnosis or
warning like that. I'm not a vet, I've only dealt with my own babies. And
besides, you never ever know that this hasn't happened to someone on the
list. That was clearly illustrated yesterday by the post about the ferret
dying of pneumonia and then the very next one was one calling the vet's
statement into question.

Be lucky if the ferret "just" has the flu! In January I was extremely ill
the first two weeks, more than I have ever been in my life, with the flu.
My big, strong, healthy two year old boy Sturmie then got the flu, or so I
thought. When he collapsed at my feet, and I ran him into the vet, he not
only just had the flu, he had kidney failure due to undiagnosed Insulinoma
that had just cropped up. He was in the vet's for a week and a half.

Take the flu threat very seriously, you never know what else it may be
hiding!

Julie
