>Does anyone get a reaction from their fuzzies by calling their name?

All my ferrets eventually learn their names. We use their names a lot
... as they run past we'll call "Hi BabyFace! Bye BabyFace!" ... when we
walk in the room with their cage, we'll say hi to whoever is awake and
watching. Each morning before work and evening before bed, I routinely
check food and water and pick up each one, use their name and give them
a cuddle. When they're out playing I'll call them and anyone who comes
gets a drop of Ferretone. If one consistantly doesn't come, I'll find
them and say their name and give them oil.

They're to the point how where if you say their name they'll look at you.
Won't necessarily *come*, mind you, but they'll look at you. :) The only
one who doesn't react is Gypsy, but I've only had her for a couple months.

ALL the ferrets are in marvelous spirit. Both BabyFace and Gypsy are now
playing with other ferrets *and* people. So the whole batch is lively and
happy. Cal is perfecting making phone calls (we have to unplug the desk
phone when he's out now), stealing VCR tapes and attacking the vacuum
cleaner. Should have seen the look on his face when the vacuum sucked his
leg in! :) He ferret-danced and chirped all over the place.

Thought for the day:
If "boring women have immaculate homes," I must be very interesting!
