Today I received a call from a good friend of mine, Barbara Ludt. Seems she
had begun to make her calls to the Senators and Representatives this
afternoon and found that she was the FIRST one to call them.

Please! Time is of the essence! At the meeting Thursday evening, Brevard
County Commissioners will present a proposal to the Florida State Senators
and House of Representatives based in Brevard County asking them to support
a quarantine period for ferrets involved in bite or scratch incidents. We
will need to show enough interest to involve both a member of the Senate as
well as a member of the House. Without this, we're lost for another year.
This bill will benefit all Florida ferret owners, please help us!

We need ALL Floridians to call these six officials and support our common
cause. We need to let them know that this is not just a few members of
Brevard Ferret Lovers Rescue requesting a change in the law. They MUST know
that others from all over the state support this initiative also.

Ask your vet to call. Ask your family, friends and co-workers to call.
(Callers do not need to own ferrets) All six calls can be made in 10 minutes
with very little fuss!

You will simply need to call and tell them *I support the proposal from
Brevard County dealing with ferret rabies quarantine*. They, in turn, will
ask you for your name and address. You will not need to explain your
position or justify your support.

I will again post the names and phone numbers of the Congressmen involved.
I have been attempting to obtain fax and email addresses for them also and
will update the list as I obtain new information. Also, the date originally
posted contained an error. The meeting is on Thursday, Jan 16, not the
17th.

Thanks for your help!
