I have a 3 year old male that evidently fell or had something fall on his
back near his tail.  His back legs were completely paralyzed.  Took him to
the vet and got a prescription for 2.5 mg Prednisone b.i.d.  x 5, qd x 5
then every other day x 5.  We're one week into the meds and he's doing just
great!  Evidently there was a swelling on his spinal cord that was
preventing the msgs from getting to the brain and back.
 
I was scared to death that it was permanent and we might lose our baby.
 
Might give it a try.
 
I expect about a 3 week recovery period.
