The NY Post ran an article today on page 50 (Sunday) titled:
"A ferret-able love affair - why these kitten-like critters are the new pet
of choice" along with a large picture of the front cover of _Modern Ferret_
issue #31 (which is currently printing).
 
The article features lots of pro-ferret commentary from author Tama
Janowitz (who wrote a article for issue #31) as well as a suggestion that
potential owners adopt rather than buy from a pet store.  It even gives
contact info for a ferret rescue in Yonkers.
