Responding to the person who was moving and wished to get a ferret gate, I
came up with a much more suitable idea.  Go to Home Depot and buy a piece
of $10.00 fiber glass.  Get it cut (which they will do for you) to fit
exactly in your doorway.  It's high enough so they can't jump over, and
perfectly safe for the fuzzies to walk around.  I have had amazing success
with it thus far.  Hope this helps.
