I'll keep it short too.  Ear mites can cause lethargy, but usually don't -
even severe infections rarely cause significant lethargy - they more often
cause scratching at the ears.
 
Four questions - 1) Have you seen a vet?  2) What drops are you using?
3) Where did you get them?  4) Does you ferret have a lot of black junk
in his ears?
