Well I haven't been reading up on my FML in ages! I have a little concern
right now and I'd like to hear if anyone has had experience with this.

Newton is almost 8. She came down with what looked like the flu a few
weeks ago. Snotty sneezy sooky and feverish (my husband and I both had it
before her). She looked like she got over it in about a week but then her
behaviour changed. She was desperate to be out of the cage cuddling with
me- to the point that she broke several teeth chewing the bars. She was
hyperactive after the flu but has gotten more and more dopey lately. She's
always sleeping now it seems. She can't breathe through her nose, this has
been for more than a week now. She was getting thin too. Her nose isn't
runny, it's that dry kind of stuffiness.

summary: stuffy nose, weight loss, slight loss of balance, more sleepy
(sounds like insulinoma doesn't it?)

Yes I've had her to the vet. He's an exotics specialist and thought that
it was just the leftover flu. He put her on amoxyl and an antihistamine
and wrote in her records to watch for signs of insulinoma or
cardiomyopathy. I've been stuffing her belly with duck soup (she loves
it) and she has put some weight back on.

If you've seen these symptoms in one of your ferrets I'd like to hear about
it. I'm plenty worried and I will have her back in to my vet again soon if
it doesn't look like it's going to clear up.

Thanks in advance:
Jen
