Misinformed is the proper term.  Properly canned foods don't have
botulism in them.  Not to worry.
 
Your little bit of tuna steak won't harm your ferrets.  I don't recommend
an all-fish diet, but a little here or there won't hurt at all, and they
may even benefit from those good fish-origin omega 3 fatty acids.
