Meeting Nanna hurrying down the path, Mully was a bit surprised; he
would have expected her to be back at her bungalow indulging in a long
nap having made sure the events of the morning had been taken care of.

Nanna felt it was her job to oversee everything at the Bridge, anything
that concerned the new comers and recent arrivals, that was her area of
expertise.

"Muldoone have you greeted Mr. Waddsworth and gotten him settled?" Nanna
asked Mully.

"Uh who bees Mr. Waddlesworf I neber hears of him" Muldoone asked Nanna.

"Mr. Waddsworth Muldoone" Nanna corrected him "his name is Mr. Waddsworth
and he was due to arrive this morning."

"Uh no Nanna no fewet awives dis morning by dat name. You be sur he
appose to awives dis morning?" Mully asked his boss.

"That is the word I got, he was due to arrive this morning" Nanna
told Muldoone. "Maybe we should go and check at the Bridge hopefully
MoonBeam Molly will be there with him soon."

"Not tink so Nanna" Muldoone told her "I not habs any tingles dat I gets
afore a fewet comes."

"Well we will go and check anyway" Nanna told her young assistant and
off they went heading for the gates of the Rainbow Bridge.

Arriving at the gates of the Rainbow Bridge, there sat a tiny creature
but it certainly was not a ferret. Stopping to sit down on a toadstool
to study the situation and sneaking a thought at just how this guy would
taste, Nanna immediately sent him a glare-stare and Muldoone realized
she knew exactly what he was thinking.

"Well what do we have here?" Nanna asked the tiny creature.

"Good morning mam my name is Mr. Waddsworth and I just got here" replied
the tiny hamster, stretching to his full height all the while trying his
best to look regal and important.

Muldoone sat and studied the tiny creature carefully and tried to not
think how he would taste on toast. "Uh kid I tink maybe you be in da
wong pwace" Mully told the new arrival.

"What are you?" the little hamster asked Muldoone and before Mully could
answer the tiny creature said to him "you look like a stretched rat."

"Hey kid I not be a stwetched wat" Mully told him "I be Mister Muldoone
and I be da officialist Wainbow Bwidge Gweeter and you better watches it."

"M U L D O O N E" Nanna scolded him, "that is no way to address a new
arrival. Please forgive my associate" Nanna cooed to the tiny creature,
"we normally don't get any animals except for ferrets here at this gate."

"Wells Nanna I not wook wike a stwetched rat" Muldoone told his boss all
the while glaring at the newcomer and then he told the tiny creature "I
be a fewet and fewest eat wittle bwats wike you."

"Oh yeah?" the newcomer challenged Muldoone.

"Yeah" Muldoone told the hamster and only meaning to try to intimidate
the tiny critter with attitude; Mully got much closer and proceeded to
give the little guy a good thorough sniffing. Never having encountered
all that many hamsters in his life, Muldoone was not prepared for what
happened next but it would take a long while for the embarrassment to
wear off.

Mr. Waddsworth having lived with ferrets with an attitude bigger than
life, he knew exactly what to do. As Muldoone was sniffing him all over,
he had his upper lip curled back in a sneer and the little hamster just
couldn't resist. He grabbed Mully's whiskers on one side and with a
couple of lightening fast moves he had them tied securely around one of
Muldoone's large canine fang teeth and if that wasn't embarrassing enough
while he was howling in pain and humiliation, Mr. Waddsworth scampered up
Mully's front leg across his shoulder and pulled himself up on Muldoone's
ball cap and came to rest directly on the bill and there he sat, legs
swinging freely. He then took one tiny paw and smacked the top of
Mully's ball cap and yelled giddy-up!!

Muldoone immediately looked over to his boss for help and Nanna was
hanging onto a tree having a good laugh at the whole situation and
especially the look of both pain and embarrassment on her young
assistant's face. Getting her fit of giggles under control at long
last she asked the tiny newcomer "Are you Mr. Waddsworth the hamster
due to arrive this morning?"

"Yes mam that would be me" the little hamster told Nanna and he
proceeded to offer Nanna a deep and very proper bow.

"Well Mr. Waddsworth you got off at the wrong place but that is okay
Muldoone can take you to the hamster village" Nanna told him "and he
can show you where to find the fruit bar and I hear it is always stocked
with the freshest figs, grapes, and pumpkin seeds."

"NO NANNA" Mully tried to object "some odder fewet takes him dere."

"Nothing doing Muldoone you will escort Mr. Waddsworth to the hamster
village and just to make sure he gets there safely, I think I will go
along, I haven't been to the hamster village in ages. Oh and Muldoone,
you might want to think about untying your whiskers, just in case you
meet up with one of your buddies, it might be a little tough explaining
you were outsmarted by a hamster" and Nanna went off in another fit of
giggles.
