hey...:)
 
off the top of my head...i believe we [ex-husband and i] had the Beagle
first...
 
Buddy would tree anything in the woods...we lived near the country [edge
of town in N.C.] and had woods and a lake behind us to take walks
in...Beagles being hunting dogs by nature...it worried me to have him
near the ferrets... they look like the squirrels in the yard...
right?..;-)
 
anyway...we watched them like a hawk when the dogs were in the house..and
the ferrets [only 2-3 at the time] were out...
 
well..[here is the funny part]...it got to the point that the dogs [our
other dog, Obi, was a husky mix] would look thru the kitchen/garage door
[glass...they were not super-dogs!] and if the ferrets were out...they
just would not come in the house!!!...
 
yeah...that was the 'big bad hunter dog'!!! [not that i like hunting...i
hate it...but i wanted Buddy for Buddy....]
 
well...i have no idea how he would handle it now...having 17 free roam
ferrets...Buddy would prolly up and run away from home...luckily..he
stayed with the ex...;-)
