Thank you Wolfy for a very good post. It is always so sad to have a
beloved fuzzy pass due to unforeseen problems. I would like to say all
of us are human even veterinarians and as such are not perfect. Doctors
and veterinarians can and do make mistakes. There is another issue I
know of regarding a well respected veterinarian of many years going
through similar issues where people have been quick to condemn.
Whatever the circumstances the important thing to understand is no
respected long term veterinarian does intentional harm. It goes against
their creed. Can they make mistakes or bad judgement calls? Of course ,
as all of us do at times. Unfortunately, sometimes these acts harm our
beloved ferrets. Do ferrets die in surgery or because of it? All the
time, for many reasons.

Some here have been quick to come to Dr Delaney's honor while quickly
condemning the other. Why? Because one is well known and one not known
as much. Does this automatically mean one is wrong and one is right?
No. My heart goes out to those who have lost their fuzzies for any
reason but we do so desperately need ferret vets as stated before and
we do need to work on keeping a ferret community that supports each
other rather than drawing lines in the sand. We are all in this calling
(and ferrets are definitely a calling) together. Ferret people are so
unique. We so desperately need to stop judging each other and try to
understand and embrace our own even though they are different from us
personally. Easy to say but difficult to do in so many facets of the
ferret community.
