Greetings all!

Well, I am behind on the fml, what else is new? We got a crowd here at the
shelter.

We have several VERY adaptable ferrets, and a few DEMON SEED, that will be
adaptable after my fingers get chewed up teaching them right from wrong.
3 mth old, female, DARK sables, BEAUTIFUL, but real *itches.

My comment on fish - can't say anything, when I was raising Kahlua the mink
for release, I was giving her fish in a large pool to teach her to swim and
fish. Mink do take the fish and eat it, but once they eat their fill, they
do stash some. She ate them all, so I didn't have to look for them. To be
honest, it was entertaining to watch her learn to fish.

Here in Cleveland, there is a Petsmart in Parma, a suburb, I can't say
enough good about, they are happy to host Ferret Education Days, give out
information, and bend over backwards for ferrets if asked to so. I keep
getting told get my 301c so they can do more for the shelter.

The Parma Pet Supplies Plus, will release any ferrets to my shelter they
cannot sell once they are "too" big or "too" old. And try to help, both
stores the employees give my number out to anyone with questions on
ferrets.

You know you are addicted to ferrets when your front tooth splits, leaving
a gap, and you choke at what the dentist wants to fix it, but you don't
think twice about spending $300 at the vet to help a shelter ferret. (one
day maybe I'll get it fixed)

BTW, back in March Kahlua was tagged and release in a local State Park,
they keep me posted on her, she had been seen with a mate, then looking
very pregnant, now she isn't so pregnant, but staying very close to her
"home". They are hoping within the next few weeks she'll start bringing
out her kits so they can trap and tag them.

The surviving kit from Itchy, jill that was pregnant in the shelter that
gave birth on April 15, and died during a C section is home, he is so cute.
His name is Trooper, Semper Fi, and is SPOILED ROTTEN already. I wish
Itchy and the rest of the litter would have survived.

Please, don't take breeding lightly, if you think you want to breed, contact
one of the breeders on the fml and ask them what it is like. The good and
the bad. Educate yourself, and remember, you are responsible for the kits
you bring into the world. Can you find them all homes? If the people that
took a kit doesn't want it any more, are you willing to take it back? What
if your lifestyle changes, are you going to accept responsibility for the
kits, or find someone else to do it? OK, I am off my soap box for now.

Keep up the debates, they are entertaining, informative, and we all can
learn something from one another. Just keep it friendly.

Dooks to all!
