*Hugs and Dooks to all!*
 
I had a fun weekend........my parents came to Colorado from Texas for a
visit and they brought their chihuahuas: Lady is 12 and DeeDee is 7.  I
remembered someone posting on here that they were curious as to how
chihuahuas and ferrets would get along.  This was the first time we'd
introduced my ferret (Trixie, 8 month old Sable Girl) to the chihuahuas.
 
It was actually pretty funny!  Trixie wanted them to play with her so
bad!!!  She ran up to DeeDee and started sniffing.........and DeeDee kept
running from her.  Trixie would "hunt" for them and they would both run
away and hide in the blankets on the couch so she'd leave them alone.
Well, DeeDee went to get some water and Trixie ran over and lept in the
air, right on top of DeeDee and DeeDee was MAD.  She turn around and
barked at Trixie.......and Trixie backed up like, "No fair!  I can't bark
like that!" DeeDee trotted off and Trixie snuck up on her at the water
bowl........and jumped in the water bowl getting water everywhere.  DeeDee
looked at Trixie like she was disgusted and walked off.
 
Later that night, I was unpacking some boxes, and Trixie came in to "help."
She wanted attention so she started jumping around at my feet on all
fours...........making me laugh and try to get away from her........and
DeeDee thought Trixie was hurting me.  (My dad can hit me on the arm and
DeeDee will go into "attack mode" and try to bite him for hurting me.)
DeeDee jumped down from the couch and ran over to Trixie and pushed her
with her nose like, "Quit it!" And Trixie looked at DeeDee
.......stunned..... and just stared at her like, "What did you do that
for?" DeeDee ran back over to the couch and stared at us to make sure
Trixie didn't do it again.  LOL It was so funny.
 
I think after they're around each other for a while they'll get along.
Lady, on the other hand, is old, sick, and cranky............and the one
time Trixie tried to smell her Lady turned around, bared her teeth, and
growled............and Trixie won't go near her.  :(
 
By the way........this just proved to me that Trixie REALLY needs a friend
to play with............and we are wanting another one. If anyone knows of
any shelters in Colorado (Besides Especially Ferrets.........I can't drive
in Denver. My vision prohibits me to get in that town!)
