Have an older ferret recently diagnosed with heart problems. He's now
on Vetmedin, Enalapril, and Lasix. Was wondering if anyone has had a
ferret with a similar problem that has just seemed to lose his
appetite? This ferret is just plain refusing to eat. Have tried soft
foods such as A/D, chicken baby food, heavy whipping cream, etc., and
he just refuses to eat anything. At this point, he is doing well as far
as moving around, up on his legs, stamina not bad, but am afraid he is
going to go downhill soon due to not wanting to eat. Am syringing him
food, but he fights it terribly. Does anyone have any suggestions on
anything to entice this boy to eat on his own? Any tricks to getting
him to eat willingly? Before the heart problem came up, he ate very
well on his own. He's used to soft food, and due to teeth issues,
doesn't do well with kibble. Any ideas would be welcome.
