Happy New Year to everyone. I have a free gift for anyone with a Ferret
Nation cage. Since we cannot put attachment on our letters to the FML
you will have to email me and I will send it to you. I have outfitted
my Ferret Nation cages with splash guards made of sheets of PlastTex,
large sheets (4'x 8') made to cover walls, made of white polyethylene.
It is available at Home Depot. I will send anyone who wants it a plan
to cut the sizes for a FN 142 two-level cage. I don't know if these are
the same sizes for the new 182 but measure and adjust as needed. Prior
to making the side guards I had covered the shelves with PlasTex,
extending the shelf to the sidewall. Those are fastened with small zip
ties. The wire floors of the other cages all have sheets of PlasTex on
them and then the blankies or hospital pads and bedding.

Send your request to me at [log in to unmask]

Happy cutting. Your ferrets' cage will be cleaner and safer with the
guards. Also there is a piece to put on the sidewall next to the ramp
to help stop feet from catching in the bars. Use small scraps for
non-scratch scrubbing of the cage, floor, litter pans, even your
dishes. There is no end to uses for it. I have to credit Kathy and
Barry Fritz of The Ferret Nook for putting this idea in my head. I
bought one of their kages and the floors had the PlasTex on them,
which they do with every kage.
