Oh, I am enjoying the response to my "stupid questions" thread. I know
everyone is taking this the right way, and remembering that anyone who asks
questions -- no matter how bizarre -- is someone we can educate and
hopefully send them on their way as a better-informed person.

As to litter: Thanks to suggestions made here on the FML some time ago, I
started using the pine pellets as litter. I use "stove chow" from Home
Depot. A 40-pound bag is $2.96. Such a deal! It lasts for months and I
swear, there is NO odor. I still haven't gotten through the second bag
since fall. (Four ferrets - - now, sadly, two). The trick is that Home
Depot only stocks stove chow seasonally. Last weekend I thought, gee, I'd
better see if there's any stove chow left, and when I called it was GONE.
They sent me to another Home Depot 10 miles down the pike, where I got 10
bags. It will last me into the millenium. Anyway, if you're interested in
cheap, natural, odorless litter, time is of the essence!

Five weeks without Cody and Dale, my missing angels. I can't quite accept
that they are dead. I went to the regular meeting of Ferret Association of
CT today, of which I am a member. They have gotten six ferrets this past
week, mostly from other shelters. None were mine. One little cutie looked
SO MUCH like Cody that I had to pick her up. After petting her for a while
I started to cry ( how embarrasing.) She really looked a lot like my missing
girl, tiny dark sable, black nose. She was VERY sweet and when I put her
down she kept sitting on my shoe and looking back up at me. I want her but
I feel bad, like I don't deserve her. But SHE deserves a good home and I
would love her a lot. Megabyte is lonely and Chip won't give him the time
of day. I could rescue this girl for Megabyte to play with. Just seeing
her little face made me feel better. But it seems like bad taste to get
another ferret so soon and my missing girls are who knows where.

Ferret Association of CT - FACT - has an excellent website: www.ferret-
