Polecats are hunted in Sweden too.  Around 5000-6000 are killed each year
(total population is approximately 15000 animals).  Most of them are
trapped in traps designed for minks or polecats.  As far as I know
polecats are not considered to be an endangered species.  Hunting season
is between October and February.
