I wrote to customer service five different times when the (taxidermy) pet
store ferret was being auctioned and received personal replies each time.
All but one stated that their thoughts and feelings were the same as mine.
Unfortunately, feelings don't have any bearing on what is or is not
legally acceptable.  One of the reps stated that eBay's policy is based
on California "code", which only included cats and dogs as pets at the
time (yet another reason to push for legalization).  So unless the 'item'
is protected, endangered or considered a pet (again, based on CA "code"),
eBay can legally accept and allow it to be listed and sold.
