Know what I want?  When we have a free-standing home one day I want to have
walking areas from room to room for the ferrets which have windows on the
sides here and there, latching flip tops for cleaning, and which (in some
locations) are large enough to put cushions on and use as couch bases and
side "tables".  Then people will be sitting down one night having
discussions and someone will look at the opposite's party's feet only to
notice ferrets there eaves-dropping.  It's humorous, it keeps the ferrets
out of the parts of a couch where they could be hurt while letting them
into the parts where they can listen-in and be noticed, and it would give
them access to many areas in the home.  Would also like something like
that -- with the glass sides -- running up the outside of the stairs for
them to go up if multi-level and having more but smaller stairs or ramps
with molding across the floor regularly to prevent back-sliding, as well as
maybe a ratcheted enclosure (with latched openning areas here and there)
also for going between levels:
