Here is a suggestion to find your snoozing deaf ferret: supply him with
suitable napping spots that you can reach.  I assume you can entice your
ferret to use it by moving used bedding at those spots.
 
Boum Boum, our deaf dark eyed white, is the one that has the largest number
of sleeping spots. Here are some of those:
Wooden box & acrylic blanket in the cupboard under the kitchen sink
Kitchen drawer lined with rags
Under the book case
Under a chest of drawers
Behind or next to storage boxes in closets
Behind tall stereo speakers
Cardboard box full of old camping clothing
Plastic pan lined with sheep fleece (or rags)
Cardboard box full or carded sheep fleece
 
A place popular with other ferrets is:
Plastic pet carriers lined with blankets or rags, stored under a table.
