Teaching ferrets to come to you when called is tricky business at times.
I've had hearing ferrets that just seem to never learn their actual
names... but will come when called to in certain tones, body language,
etc. While I've had others learn without effort. Every ferret is
different. I think most ferrets can learn if you have the time to invest.

Teaching deaf ferrets to come takes even more time it seems as they seem to
self absorb at times, or actually seem more stubborn than hearing ferrets
(if thats at all possible lol). If you are to teach them to come, you must
be consistent. You must invest time also. I can't tell you how important
these two factors are. I'm very happy that you are interested in teaching
your deaf ferret to come to you when "called" as it may one day save his
life.

If your deaf ferret gets lost, how will you find him/her if they have no
way to come to you? I think that says it in a nutshell. Teaching them to
come to you is NOT hard at all. It's just so very different than hearing
ferrets. Once you and your ferret are familiar with a calling cue, then it
will become quite natural.

Down below is my deaf ferret site, there is detailed information on
teaching deaf ferrets, and calling techniques. :)
