hi all,
ok this is what happend today, got a new kit for my birthday, when we went
into the pet store we saw a sign for a free ferret to a good home, i got
the number my boyfriend had a weird feeling he said take the card.. well
we got are new boy from the pet shop named him lil' tomie he is really
cute anyway the day goes on and i call this guy up left a message on the
machine, well he calls me back around 9pm says he has a female about 4 yrs
of age that he doesnt have time for anymore, and cant be litter trained,im
ok let me grab the girls up and tomie and take them over there to see if
they get along, well they do, but the kicker is i whisper in my boyfriends
ear saying hmmm kinda big for a girl and really small for a male so i take
the ferret into the kitchen and look at her bellie well the her is a him
and he is soooo under weight its not funny.. i cant believe this idiot
that had this ferret for 4 yes i say 4 whole years didnt even know it was a
damn male, well come to find out this poor baby has been feed cheap azz cat
food and when i looked into his ears they are piled up with black ear wax.
i put alittle bit of ferretvite on my finger and he was like what the heck
is that.. didnt even know what it was, didnt eat it, this guy tells us
that the ferret hadnt been out of the cage for 3 mo's grrrrr... i asked to
see this cage well hell i wouldnt put a damn hamster in it, it was about
1 qubic foot bye 1 qubic foot.--so my boyfriend says-- and the bottom has
chicken wire, with kitty litter under that, so he has been walking on
nothing but chicken wire for all that time, all i know is i wanted to hit
the guy for being a dumb azz... so im like sooo can i have the ferret thank
god he says yes i scoop up all the fuzz butts and put them in the carrier
and run out to the van.. on the way out i hear my boyfriend tell this guy
never to buy a ferret again cuz they may look cute when there small but
that he has done alot of damage to him lol he actually promised that he
would never own another ferret, god i hope not.. when i brought him home
the poor baby can barley walk he is so weak has no musle tone to him at all
he kinda skimpers around like wow i got all this room... i had to go buy
some cat food it about killed me to do it to, i figure i will start mixing
small amounts of the ferret food in it for him leaving small bowls of it
around the house, im gonna have to clean his ears in the morning we didnt
want to freak him out to badly, my girls are afraid to play with him i
think they know he isnt well, when i brought the kit home omg they licked
him clean and they keep checking in the basket i have him in to see if he
is ok lol he was trying to get milk from them they were like heyyy now
lmao.. but this is my first rescue and im not really sure what to do, i
will be calling this guy back tomorrow asking him if he got any kind of
shots for him and if so what vet so i can go get copy's of the records, if
not well a trip to the vet sure cant hurt, so now im up to 4 ferrets good
grief god how i love it lmao.. would be using shift key but i havent
figured out what the girls did to it yet grrrrr..
