Thank you for posting Judy. I was moved by your plight as it had similar
overtones that I suffered with my Jako. Prior to being on the list, I
one knew of one "ferret friendly" vet in the area. Unfortunately, that
is not even close to being knowledgeable. I was quoted an outrageous
price for adrenal surgery and a battery of tests that I have since come
to find do very little. This same vet is in a private practice with one
other vet in a very large and nice clinic on a nice piece of real estate
next to a hospital. So the price of their services are to pay for al
that. Currently we go to a very humble clinic with four doctors (one is
very ferret knowledgeable) and the services reflect that. You mentioned
something about a vet "oath". I have not heard of such a thing. It
certainly can not be the Hippocratic oath of "do no harm" because they
sometime need to put animals to sleep. Does anyone know if vets take an
oath and if so what does it say?
