Thanx for answering my question.  If I infer correctly petroleum jelly is
just fine to use.  I have to say, however, that my ferrets absolutely adore
p.j. and do not hesitate to take it.  My cats absolutely hate both p.j. and
laxatone, but I find that they have a harder time spitting the p.j. back out
after I've administered it.  In my area a tube of laxatone costs over $6,
while I can get a big old pot of non-name brand p.j. (16 oz.) on sale for
under $2.  A healthy bit of savings with 6 pets.  Even a smaller amount of
savings would be worth it as dimes (and pennies) are very important in this
household and can make a big difference in the budget.
