Most likely what you saw was a mink not a ferret. Ferrets are never a
soild black in color. One think to keep in mind if you gap hold of a
mink it will gap back they have razor sharp teeth and claw so beware
you will get hurt. Another thing to keep in mind this is a wild animal
and you will be bite and you have no way of knowing if it has rabies or
not. Best to leave it be it knows how to take care of itself and it is
much happier free then caged up as a pet.
