Fromme-D (which was studied in ferrets) hasn't existed in a great many
years; it was altered to develop Galaxy-D. Fervac-D was withdrawn from
the market several years ago (and was prone to problems). Purevax
(which was studied in ferrets) was developed by Merial which also makes
the rabies vaccine was introduced but can be hard to get. Galaxy-D is
often used but the manufacturer did not study it beyond on 21 day study
in a few male kits. Never-the-less, in titer studies the results look
good.

For rabies vaccines: IMRAB 3 annually (since ferrets have not been
studied beyond one year). Only a vet can legally give rabies
vaccines to issue rabies vaccine certificates. See:
http://www.nasphv.org/Documents/RabiesCompendium.pdf

Of the three rabies vaccines studied in ferrets it was the only one
which lasted as long as a year and minimal rates of side effects in
ferrets.

Sukie (not a vet)
