A few weeks ago, I decided to finally purchase a big, new, lovely
Ferret Nation two-storey cage for my three babies (as it turns out, it
was a VERY good idea, since we increased our number by yet another one
about a week later...). I also decided to purchase all new, sturdy,
fresh bedding for the new cage. I've always been a strong proponent
of "when getting new, go ALL new!" I really felt my babies deserved
a "real" cage, since their current one was "frankensteined" together
from two older models -- one we obtained for free from an other ferret
lover, and a second, larger one we bought for a deep discount at
Petco because it was a little banged up (and then the checkout girl
erroniously gave us a larger discount...but I digress...) Anyway,
since my babies were one of the few things that helped me get through
my husband's long absence last summer while he was away at school,
I decided to share the "wealth" (*snicker* *chortle* *laugh* *snort*)
of our tax refund with my furkids, and went all-out to make my babies
happy, warm, and comfy (not to mention make my own life esaier by
having a cage that I could clean without killing myself!).

I quickly found out that my original bedding maker was too busy to make
me a set of bedding within my time frame, so I contacted Rose German. I
had some bedding I won in a raffle a couple of years ago that she had
made, and was delighted with it.

Rose not only helped me select a bright, cheerful blue pattern
("Finding Nemo" print in royal blue); she made recommendations of
additional items I might consider specifically for my cage, and then
went out of her way to match my specifications for a special item! She
also cranked out my order in record time, in spite of also having other
orders ahead of mine. From payment to receipt of my "puffy" box, it
took exactly *a week*.

I'd never have thought about covers for the floors -- but having since
seen my ferrets nearly kill themselves, sliding and stumbling over the
slick plastic pans, I've realized that these are an absolute necessity.
Then, too, the clever ramp covers for the wire ramps -- ingenious!
(I've no clue if she invented these or adapted them -- I don't care;
they're wonderful!). The hammies and beds and cube are thick, soft,
and apparently comfortable, because my babies love them. I even have
two ferts who previously refused to nap in a sleep sack outdoing one
another on who gets to use it. I have a feeling this bedding is going
to *last.* ** No, I don't know Rose that well. No, she didn't ask me
to write this. No, I don't "get" anything for letting people know how
thrilled we (me, my hubby, and the ferts) are with her gorgeous
bedding. I do get the satisfaction of knowing that I might steer
someone in the right direction, though, if they are needing some
wonderful new ferret bedding!

A gazillion thanks to Rose for her patience and all her help
(especially her patience) and her suggestions. Did I mention her
patience? :)
