I would like to know if any other ferrets out there have coughed up hair
balls. My Farley has coughed one up three times in as many years, Each
"ball" is 2,5 to 3 inches long - rather big for a ferret. Each time I have
seen him start coughing up whitish liquid, i know the hair ball is coming.
Since he is over 4 now, I get more worried that he won't be able to get it
all up. He and the others get laxatone on a daily basis. The first two
times occurred around shedding season, but this last one a couple of weeks
ago was not during those times.

Feel free to email me back directly in anyone has had similar experiences.
My vet had never heard of a ferret coughing up such a hair ball. After the
first time, the hospital kept the hair ball in the refrigerator and later
photographed Farley beside it.

Thank you in advance all for your time.
