These are pictures of my 4 year old ferret, I got him back in August,
and i'm not sure how long he's had an enlarged prepuce.

He was (is) my first ferret also, so I didn't notice it as off when I
first got him. I did get a vet appointment the next day and the vet
told me that this is unfamilar and off - She said it could be cancer,
or a cyst. We aren't sure. We aspirated the 'cyst' a few times, and got
inconclusive results. The liquid is a straw coloured like watery fluid
and when we aspirated it - it would pop, and go back to the regular
size. Within about 20 mins to 1 day, it would be back to the old size.

I've been two three vets, and none of them know what it is. I've
consulted the FHL list, and they weren't really sure about it either.
I'm hoping that this is a bigger group of people so maybe someone will
have some more answers?

The vets refuse to do surgery on him because it would be a complete
reconsrtuction of the penis (or they think) We have thought of
alternitives on surgery, but they are scared it will just re wrap back
to a reconstructive surgery.

The vet also thought that this could be a sign of adrenal, even though
he doesn't have any of the other symptoms - like hair loss. She is
thinking that all the sex hormone are gravitating to this area, causing
a cyst or lump.

Within the last couple days, he started discharging a 'bloody' looking
substance - or maybe the dried straw like fluid? I dunno, I never see
it actually discharge, just the dried liquid afterwards.

It doesn't bother him, he doesn't play with it, he eats and drinks 100%
and is playful. So this isn't effecting him negitively. I'm just scared
that if it's something like cancer - he will be effected very soon.
(I've been told the only cancer in that region is very very
aggressive.. so if he's had it for how long (minimum 6 months) wouldn't
he be dead?

Sorry for the rant! I'm very frusterated at this, and i'm scraed i'll
lose him if I can't get answers soon.

Thank you
