As many of you know, I lost a very special ferret in December. I know that
I can never replace Mort in my heart or in my life. I would never even
try. But I went looking for fish yesterday, the whole turning of the tank
and all. I went to a pet store here in Reno that I NEVER go to. But there
was a huge bad boy of a ferret there, I thought with his size that he was a
breeder. Nope, he was fixed and had been to three homes in the short year
of his life. He is from Canada, the breeder we do not know. But he has a
faint "M" tattooed in is right ear. He is beautiful, kind of dark points
and a light face. I named him Duncan, it seemed to fit. I would love to
know if anyone can give me hints on who the breeder is. He is a bit nippy,
but I think that is due to some mis treatment along the way. He is worse
with men, so my husband is keeping his distance for now. But this guy is
huge! He is at least 6 inches longer than my largest male and a pound
heavier. But he is gentle with them so far. Not fights, flying poop or
anything. He slept with the crew last night, and made himself at home
under the coffee table with the others for their nap this morning. I think
he is so grateful to have a home right now. He walks around dooking to
himself all the time. It sounds like a child's giggle. He is a bit of a
spaz when it comes to playing, uncoordinated as all get out. But he tries.
Anyway, this is Duncan.....the new guy!

Thinking thoughts of spring here in Reno!
Kim and the Reno six again, still missing Mort...
