My name is David and I've been away from the ferret mailing list for a
very long time. I picked up my first little ferret about 15 years ago
and her name was Sweetie. Shortly thereafter I became a member of the
Central Florida Ferret Friends. About five or six years ago this group
went out of business though. Since then I have started a group called
Ferret Hospice House. I only take in sick and older ferrets and do not
advertise, as this would overwhelm my shelter with people trying to
dump their kids. I only take in referrals from our local vet and I'm
not telling you who he is.

Right now I have this really good looking girl sitting on my chest,
but my wife says it's OK as the cute girl's name is Rugrat. She enjoys
getting personal and enjoys licking my nose and I will just leave it
at that.

I will be getting a website up soon and will have the Webcam on all
the little critters so you can follow along their daily activities. I
will also have pictures of those in house, and pitchers of those that
we have had in the past. There will also be a medical section with a
warning, and so you can see how some of the kids have arrived here or
some of the things they have gone through. Once a little kid gets to
my place they do not leave and they live out a good satisfying life
for the rest of the time that they are here. I have vowed that I will
continue to do this until it comes to the point when I have to put one
down I no longer cry. More at another time, but I must tell you I'm not
very proficient in answering or looking at my e-mail every single day.
So I will do the best I can and answer anything that you have to say
or any request in my time which could be closer to a ferret's time.
