Here's a question for the experts:  My vet just removed a cyst from the
roof of my ferret's (Mia) mouth.  The lab report called it a "Keratinizing
Epithezial Cyst" and said it was an unusual place for such a cyst to be
found.  My vet said he had never heard of a ferret getting these things in
their mouths, so he couldn't tell me what caused it, or whether she'll get
more of them.
 
I guess this news is better than cancer, which was their original
guess, but I don't know whether to be worried about her getting more cysts.
If anyone has heard of this happening before, I could use any information
you might have.  BTW, she's about a year old, and appears to be doing great
since the surgery.
 
ObFerretToy: I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but my ferrets
LOVE ping-pong balls.  Mia grabs them by her front paws, and scoots around
backwards with them.  Pace pushes them with her nose from hiding place to
hiding place.  Big fun!  Also, whoever suggested putting peanut butter in a
film canister for the fuzzies to play with, _GREAT_IDEA_!  My girls played
with one of those for an hour straight last night.
