I agree that the declawing or descenting of an animal is inhumane,
however, the shot about the mosquito's is a nessacary shot if you have
mosquito's in your area.  Even if you don't take your cats, dogs or
ferrets outside, the mosquitoes come in and so many are diseased.
 
The shot prevents heartworms.  Heartworms are horrible in whichever
animal gets it.
 
I have had 4 foster dogs that came in with heartworms, and 2 ferrets and
it's horrible.
 
It also cost me a fortune to get them taken care of, (300.00 per dog) and
the ferrets cost about 150.00 each to treat.  If they had been given the
preventative in the first place it would have saved them an awful lot of
suffering.
 
I just wanted to give everyone a first hand experience.  Preventative is
much kinder & cheaper than treatment.
