This is so true!  But on the flip side of things...I had a ferret that we
thought had developed a systemic inflection, and then we felt the swollen
messentaric lymph node.  A surgery to remove the node for biopsy confirmed
the lympho.
 
Bob C. talks about nuts and ferrets.  I'm not saying anything about the
nutritional aspects of this, but wouldn't nuts be something to avoid as they
don't digest quickly and could possibly cause a blockage?  I have been known
to slip a lick of peanut butter here and there to a fuzzy, but I don't think
I would ever intentionally give them a peanut (although a peanut in a shell
makes a great toy as long as you can supervise).  Also Bob had mentioned the
dog food- when my sister visits with her dogs, some of my ferrets will stop
at nothing to get to the dogs food and steal as much as they can- it is a
treat of treats!  We usually give them each a piece or two as a treat,
seemed to think that it couldn't be any worse than raisins for them.

EEEUUUUWWWWW!!!!!  LOL!  Yuck!  I think I would have been out of that bed
pretty quick too!  Sorry to have had a good chuckle at your misfortune!
