The discussion about the psychological impact of losing a fuzzy has really
touched me.  The few times that they've appeared to be missing for even a
few minutes have already given me a horrifying sense of what the feeling
could be like.  Unrelenting.
 
Anyway, I just wanted to make a gentle reminder.  Not every lost fuzzy
remains lost even if never found by you.  Mia is a "Found Fuzzy", I'm sure
she was somebody's baby somewhere and the knowledge that she's escaped once
makes me keep an extra careful eye on her.  She was discovered by friends of
friends of friends.  I know that when she was initially found several ads
were run looking for the owner but the only response was an obsessive woman
who insisted Mia was hers even though she couldn't name either the sex nor
coloring of the ferret.  So in time Mia made the rounds from home to home,
all well meaning homes but not always ideal.  I comandeered her from a
friend who was out of town too much about 4 months ago and believe me, she
is firmly part of my family now.  She is loved, played with, cared for, kept
clean and healthy and she's bonded well with our other fuzzy, Bobby.
 
So, I just wanted to say that even though the tragedy of losing a fuzzy can
never be completely healed, please remember that there are ferret lovers
everywhere and many of us have taken in lost babies, it's not impossible
that your lost baby isn't warm and fat and fuzzy as ever somewhere.
