RE: Reet... <[log in to unmask]> Ferret play-buddies
Why could you get "a guinea pig or some such creature" but you cannot get
another ferret? Is it the price? If it is what about going to a shelter -
the adoption costs are lower.

RE: Josephine Hansen <[log in to unmask]> sedating question?
Rather than drug Liza to get her calmed down, why don't you try letting her
have a longer - separate - playtime? That should wear some of that energy
down to have her calmer when you bring out Lucky. This way there would be
no resentment about one ferret getting to play while the other watches.
Just let them both play in separate areas. Please post your updates on how
things go.

RE: James <[log in to unmask]> What a ferret hears
That was GREAT!!! I loved it. I used to narrate for my ferrets when they
gave me looks. You take something away from them - they give you a
look.... Comments are about the same.

RE: James O'Connell <[log in to unmask]> Ferrets in Dorm Rooms?
I can tell you from the schools point of view the reason that they allow
fish but not other animals. First, not all college students are
responsible and caring for a fish is about as easy as it gets. Second, you
are living in THEIR building - it is their carpet that could get ruined
(from scratching or "accidents"), it is their structure (walls & doors)
that could be damaged, it is their insurance that every one is living
under, etc. Third dorm rooms are right next door to each other - you and
your roomie may not be allergic to pets but your neighbors might be.

If you can look at their point of view and show how the approved pets
wouldn't hurt them - logically and legally, not emotionally they may change
their mind. I have a feeling though that you will get the answer - if you
don't like our rules move off campus.
